Popular Nigerian artist, Abiola Akinbiyi aka Bella Shmurda, has said he was scammed after allegedly paid $4 million for a home in Lagos.
The musician revealed that he recently found out he was duped and that the house did not belong to the person who sold it to him.
The claim was made during an emotional Instagram Live session yesterday, where he broke down in tears asking for help.
“I am devastated by this development and I am afraid of losing the money I worked hard for,” Bella Shmurda said during the broadcast.
“Nigeria, I want your help. I’m not all right right now. He said: “I bought stolen property, I spent $4 million of my own money that I’d worked for.”
The singer said that the person who sold him the property had vanished after receiving the money.
And now the seller’s disappeared. Help me please. Somebody intervene. “I’m out of things,” he said.
“I have worked for years for this. I can’t lose $4 million like that.
However, the musician said he has contacted his lawyer to look into the issue.
“I just talked to my lawyer for more investigation,” he stated.
During the live feed, Bella Shmurda was seen making the purchase, but no more details regarding the house or the seller were revealed.
The accusations have not been substantiated by independent sources, and neither law enforcement agencies nor any of the parties involved in the transaction have made any official statement.
