Idara Michael, a youth development advocate and public speaker, is representing Nigeria in the 39th JCI Academy, an international leadership course now ongoing in Tokachi Obihiro, Japan. Africans & Diaspora
The academy will take place from July 2 to July 11, 2026 and will bring together more than 170 participants from countries across the globe, with Idara representing Nigeria as the only delegate from the country for this year’s edition.
The academy is one of the main leadership development courses of Junior Chamber International, and provides opportunity for participants to increase their leadership capacity, build worldwide networks and exchange ideas with peers from varied cultural backgrounds.
The topic this year, “Evolve with True Heart,” is an invitation to lead with empathy, authenticity and a genuine human connection, while finding ways to contribute to more peaceful and successful societies.
For Idara, the programme is an opportunity to learn cross-culturally and develop as a leader while representing Nigeria on an international platform. Delegates will be asked to participate in seminars, discussions and collaborative activities designed to promote personal growth and enduring global partnerships. Africans & Diaspora
