The father of Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, who is facing criminal charges over alleged forgery and impersonation has reportedly been detained by police operatives today in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Crime and Justice
Officers arrived at the family’s home in numerous vehicles and reportedly took Adeniyi’s father and another man, thought to be a visitor at the house, into jail, residents informed journalists.
According to witnesses, the operation grabbed the attention of people and generated worry in the household, especially the aged mother of the suspect, Vanguard writes.
One homeowner, who asked not to be named, said authorities rapidly secured the premises and left with the two guys, but a security presence remained in the area for some time following the operation.
Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi is on trial for alleged falsification of documents, impersonation and related offences from allegations tied to the bogus Presidential Fiscal and Infrastructure Projects Council.
The matter is subjudice in the court.
As at the time of reporting this article, the Oyo State Police Command has not made any official comment to confirm or explain the reported arrests.
