President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will leave Abuja tomorrow for a three nation trip to Kenya, Rwanda and France.
This was reported by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga.
Onanuga, who gave a summary of the three nations tour, said President Tinubu will first stop in France, from where he would depart to Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the Africa-France Summit billed to commence next week, Daily Trust reports.
Co-chaired by President Emmanuel Macron and President William Ruto, the summit will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, reorganization of global financing architecture and climate action.
President Tinubu’s attendance at the conference on May 11 and May 12 will underline Nigeria’s steadfast resolve to enhance strategic partnerships with African countries and the French Republic.
The summit, under the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will be a high-level forum for African leaders and their French counterparts to discuss critical issues impacting the continent such as economic transformation, climate resilience, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, technological innovation and peace-building efforts.
Following the Kenyan summit, President Tinubu will head to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the biennial Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 and 15.
The Africa CEO Forum 2023, with the subject “Scale or Fail”, will be the biggest gathering of African private sector executives, investors and policymakers, dedicated to driving economic change through shared scale, regional integration and increasing cross-border investment.
The summit, in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), will convene more than 2,000 senior executives and national officials to discuss methods for developing resilient, competitive sectors.
President Tinubu will make pronouncements on the continuing reforms of his administration to reposition the country as the investment and growth destination of choice at the two summits.
He will also meet prominent global and African business leaders at the highest level.
The President will be travelling with some of his ministers and senior aides.
The president is expected back in Nigeria at the end of the Rwanda meeting.
