Today, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that his country had the “necessary will” to terminate the war with Israel and the United States, but they wanted to make sure that it wouldn’t happen again.
Pezeshkian told the president of the European Council over the phone that “we have the will to end this conflict, as long as certain conditions are met, especially the guarantees needed to stop the aggression from happening again.” This is a key demand from Tehran.
Iran’s media stated that the country responded to a 15-point US plan to end the war last week with a five-point counterproposal that also called for terminating the “aggression” and setting up a way to make sure that neither Israel nor the US would go to war again.
Pezeshkian said today, “The solution to normalizing the situation is for them to stop their aggressive attacks.”
The US and Israel started the war on February 28 by attacking Iran in waves, killing its supreme commander and starting a series of missile and drone operations on countries in the region.
