Seriake Dickson, who used to be the governor of Bayelsa State, has called for the 2027 general elections to get rid of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is led by Tinubu.
During an interview on Channels Television last night, Dickson, who is the senator for Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the 10th Assembly, made the call.
He also blamed the party for the country’s problems, saying that things have only become worse since the APC took control the federal government.
The legislator said that the party didn’t have a clear plan for how to make the country better. He said that the APC’s major goal in 2014 was to beat then-President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 elections.
“They came together to get rid of the PDP and President Jonathan, and look where we are now: they brought in Buhari.” No one asks, “What are you going to do when you get power?” They said, “Change.”
“Change can happen in both directions; for example, the APC has gone from bad to worse. You might go from bad to worse. If you argue that PDP was horrible, like because of corruption or insecurity, you can’t even say anything. People discuss and add up trillions of dollars, money they probably don’t even need.
Dickson said, “So that is where we are, whether it is insecurity, the economy, fighting corruption, deepening democracy, or even not respecting Nigeria’s essential diversity because that’s what we are.”
The APC won the election in 2015 on three main issues: eliminating corruption, improving the economy, and making people feel safe.
But some say things seem to have gotten worse.
