Shehu Mohammed, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has ordered a massive redeployment of senior officials. This is part of the agency’s attempts to improve service delivery across the country and reinforce its operations.
Agboola Olundegun, the Assistant Corps Commander in charge of Administration and the Corps Public Education Office, made the announcement on Wednesday in Abuja.
The statement says that the changes are meant to make the Corps more successful at carrying out its legal duties by strengthening cooperation amongst institutions and making the Corps more effective at its job.
Olusegun Ogungbemide, the former Corps Public Education Officer, has been named Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Operations at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja as part of the new assignments.
Ogungbemide will be in charge of the Corps’ countrywide enforcement coordination and strategic field operations in his new job. He used to be the Sector Commander in Lagos State and is now a member of the National Institute.
FRSC Tells Employees to Be Honest and Follow the Rules
As part of the redeployment, Felicia Kalu, who used to be the Deputy Corps Public Education Officer, was promoted to Acting Corps Public Education Officer. She will now be in charge of the Corps’ public outreach, media engagement, and nationwide road safety advocacy initiatives.
Corps Commander Maxwell Kaltungo Lede has been moved from his job as Sector Commander of the Katsina Sector Command to take over as Corps Intelligence Officer at the FRSC National Headquarters.
Corps Commander HA Ibrahim has been moved from the FRSC Academy, where he was in head of Manpower, to take over as Sector Commander of the Katsina Command.
In the same way, Corps Commander HA Ogundayo has been moved from the National Traffic Radio section in the Corps Public Education Office to the Corps Marshal’s Office, where he will be in charge of National Traffic Radio.
Deputy Corps Commander OJ Ohaeri is also affected by the transfer. He goes from the Administration and Human Resources Department of the Road Safety Headquarters to become the Deputy Corps Public Education Officer.
Mohammed said that the modifications are part of ongoing reforms to make the Corps more professional and efficient.
He told the officers who were affected to use their experience and dedication in their new jobs as the Corps continues to work to make roads safer all around the country.
The FRSC said again that it is dedicated to making roads safer by working harder, using information to enforce the law, teaching the public in a smart way, and working with the right people.
