Barry Mpigi, the Senator for Rivers Southeast, has been reported deceased.
The Nation says that Mpigi, who was reported to be prominent and devoted to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike, died at the age of 64.
People say that Mpigi died after a protracted fight to stay alive against an unknown illness.
Some people stated he died in Abuja, while others said he died in a hospital in London.
