The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a new mandate requiring all citizens to pay for E-Tags at all 24 federal airports across the country, effective today, Friday, May 17, 2024.

This initiative follows the presidential directive that mandates the use of E-Tags for accessing the nation’s federal airports.

In a statement released yesterday, FAAN informed the public that the E-Tag payment system will be operational starting today.

Travellers will be able to purchase their E-Tags before accessing the airports.

The statement reads, “Following the Presidential Directive that all citizens are mandated to pay for E-Tags at all 24 Federal Airports across the country, we wish to inform the general public that the E-Tags are available for sale from Friday, May 17, 2024.”

FAAN also mentioned that there will be an option to pay in cash at the Access Gates for motorists without E-Tags.

Motorists without E-Tags will be required to pay as they pass through the gates.
