Nigerian Police arrest Rivers cultists

The Rivers State Police Command said its operatives have arrested three suspected cultists in Bean community in Khana Local Government Area of the state.

 

The police also said a locally made pistol was recovered from the suspects who have been terrorizing Khana LGA.

 

The Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed this in a statement released to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

 

Iringe-koko explained that men of the anti-cultism unit in Bori, headquarters of Khana LGA acting on a tip-off made the arrest on Monday.

 

The statement read, “On Monday 9th January 2023 at about 0343hrs on a tip-off at Gure Community, Khana LGA of Rivers State, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit, Bori Annex arrested the suspects.

 

“They are Kensuanu Loveday Dick (m) a.k.a ‘Aaro’, the executioner of the Iceland cult group, Myimaka Olu (m) and one Junior Mbo (m) of Bean community who has been terrorizing the area.

 

“During the search on Junior Mbo, one locally made pistol was discovered. They will be charged in court once the investigations are completed.”

 

She reiterated the command’s resolve to reduce crime and criminality in all its forms to the barest minimum.

 

While urging members of the public to be vigilant at all times, Iringe-Koko urged them to report any suspicious activity or movement within their neighbourhood to the police for appropriate action.
