Commuters killed as container falls on vehicles in Lagos
A 40ft container toppled over vehicles plying the Cele bus stop along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos State killing many commuters.
Although no definite number has been given of the number of casualties PUNCH reports that a driver of one of the popular yellow commercial buses was confirmed dead on the spot while the other two escaped.
According to a source about five of the passengers in the bus that the container fell on were rushed to the hospital and confirmed dead.
“It involved an upturned 40ft container on a commercial bus.
“Police officers from Ilasa division are on the ground doing the needful and also effort is on for recovery,” the agency wrote on its official Facebook page.
