Enrollment of Kano States IDPs, vulnerable groups into contributory healthcare
Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has enrolled internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable children groups into its healthcare scheme.
The state commissioner for health, Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, enrolled the children when he led a visitation team to Mariri IDP Camp and Nasarawa Children’s Home as part of the series of activities earmarked to commemorate the 2022 Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day.
The commissioner stated that the purpose of the visit was to enroll the new intakes into the vulnerable group healthcare programme under Kano State Contributory Healthcare Scheme so as to benefit from the program like the older intakes as approved by the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Tsanyawa stated that the governor had a special regard for the children in IDP camps, children’s homes, Torrey homes and persons in the rehabilitation centres in the state and had provided funds for their enrollment into the scheme in order to give them access to free healthcare.
In their separate remarks, the Principal of the IDP Camp School, Hassan Z. Haruna; and the Director Child of the Children Home, Hadiza Rabiu Shitu, appreciated the gesture.
