We are freedom fighters, not kidnappers – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) has said it has nothing to do with kidnapping contrary to the claim by Katsina Police Command of arresting a member of its arm militia Eastern Security Network(ESN) in Katsina.

Katsina police said on Tuesday that they arrested one David Eric Uchenna, 19, aka Ibrahim Muhammed, at Kofar Sauri Quarters in the Katsina metropolis, following a tip-off from some allies he confided in.

The group said that the claim by the Police Command is not only laughable but also demeaning of the police institution.

In a statement on Thursday by the IPOB Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the organisation said it has never engaged in the business of kidnapping, adding that such claim was outside their mandate.

He added that ESN operatives’ mandate is to protect land and forests as well as Biafran farmers from terror herdsmen invasion and will never be involved in the kidnapping.
