Over 2023 elections INEC to meet with Ganduje and Ortom
Next tuesday, The Independent National Electoral Commission plans to meet with governors, security agents and presidential candidates ahead of the 2023 general elections.
This information was disclosed at an interactive session, at Nicon Luxury, Abuja, the INEC Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye; Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; his counterpart in Bauchi, Bala Mohammed; Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom; and the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, all in attendance.
Others include the presidential candidates of Action Alliance, Hamza Al-Mustapha; Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, Yabagi Sani; Nigerian Union of Journalists, and other stakeholders in the electoral process.
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the organiser of the programme, Edwin Olofu.
Olofu, who is also the Managing Director of Platinum Post, stated that participants at the roundtable would debate how the country could achieve a credible and violent-free election next year.
The statement also said that Al-Mustapha would deliver a keynote address on the theme, ‘Contemporary Security Challenges & its Effects on 2023 Elections.’
