Shehu Sani to Students: Don’t sue FG over strike
Former Senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has urged Nigerian students not to sue the Federal Government and the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, over damages incurred during the period of the strike.
Recall that Minister of Education while speaking at the 47th Session of the State House Ministerial Briefing in Abuja on Thursday, urged the students affected by the ongoing strike to take the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to court.
However, Emmanuel Osodeke, president of the union during an interview with Channels Television, on Friday, stated that students are planning to sue the Federal Government and the minister for forcing ASUU who is an employee of the system and fighting for their interest.
However, Sani in a tweet on Friday advised the students to resolve the issue via a dialogue table not through the court.
He wrote, “Students should not take ASUU or the FG to court over the strike.Let the issue be resolved on a dialogue table.
“If you go to court and invite SANs and SANs into the matter, court adjournments will jam the strike. Only God will know when the wahala go end.”
