States are taking measures to forestall attacks, following the surge in terror activities in Abuja and parts of the North.

Security is being beefed up in Lagos and around the Enugu metropolis.

Terrorists, bandits and other categories of criminals are unrelenting in their nefarious activities.

There has been a spike since the July 5 attack on the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.

All 64 Boko Haram commanders and men, as well over 400 other inmates, were freed during the attack.

Last week, terrorists laid an ambush on the Guards Brigade in Bwari, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Two officers and six soldiers were killed in the attack that has thrown Abuja residents into panic.

Yesterday, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, raised the alarm over the presence of terrorists in Osun and Ogun forests.

He urged the Southwest to be at alert and proactive.

Also yesterday, Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule said terrorists fleeing Zamfara, Niger, Kebbi and Kaduna states were re-grouping in his state.

He summoned an emergency security meeting to strategise on how best to respond.

But, the Lagos Police Command said security agencies have been placed on alert.

It urged residents not to lose sleep as adequate security measures were in place to forestall any threats.

There was a leaked intelligence report last week that terrorists were planning to attack Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna and some other major cities.
