NSCDC deploys 2, 418 personnel for Easter celebration in Delta
The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed a total of 2,418 of her personnel to provide a water-tight security before, during and after the Easter Celebrations in the State.
The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Akinsanya I A, who approved the deployment, stated that the relative peace in Delta State should not be taken for granted. “To this effect, we are deploying 2,418 personnel to secure life and critical national assets and infrastructure of government in the State before, during and after the celebrations,” Akinsanya was quoted as saying by the Public Relations Officer of Delta NSCDC, Dsc Emeka Peters.
According to Peters, the NSCDC boss explained that the personnel were drafted from the Tactical Squad, the Anti-Vandal Unit, the Agro-Rangers, Counter Terrorism Unit CTU, the Rapid Respond Unit, Operations Dept, the Snipper Combatant (Female Squad) and the Department of Intelligence and Investigation (DII)
Peters said that the Commandant directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Component Commanders and Squadron Leaders to supervise and monitor the deployed officers to operate within the extant laws and discharge their duty with professionalism in line with international best practices.
He urged all Deltans to go about their legitimate business without fear of molestation. He reminded them to say something when they see something that their identity would never be disclosed.
Meanwhile, the Commandant used the opportunity to admonish all Christians to love one another, just as Christ loved the Church which would engender a godly society.
