The Police in Niger State attached to Chanchaga Division has arrested 25-year-old Abubakar Muhammad Buba of Gidan Madara area in Minna.
The suspect was arrested for criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide of his father, 52-year-old Alhaji Muhammad Buba.
The deceased, according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun, allegedly attacked and stabbed to death at his resident in Korokpan community in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State on October 13, 2021.
The statement added that the suspect conspired with 26-year-old Aliyu Muhammad, who is presently at large, to kill the deceased.
The suspect led police operatives to Tagwai-Dam where the body of the deceased was dumped after being packed in a sack.
He disclosed that he contracted Aliyu for a sum of N110,000 where a deposit of N50,000 was paid and the balance of N60,000 was paid after selling some of the deceased’s properties.
The suspect claimed that the crime was committed so that he would inherit the deceased’s properties.
The case is under investigation at the State Criminal Investigations Department.
