Fierce gun-battle in Borno as soldiers engage Boko Haram in shootout

Troops of the Nigerian Army are currently in a gunfight with Boko Haram insurgents at Tamsukawu village in Kaga LGA of Borno State, according to reports from the area.

One of the reports, by TheCable, quoted an unnamed military source as saying that soldiers and insurgents are currently engaged in a heavy gun battle.

“He said the insurgents invaded the town to attack a military formation in the evening, but that they met stiff resistance from the troops.

“There is no certain figure of casualties yet.

“The air task force, rapid response squad Team as well as the troops from super camp, Ngamdu, were said to have been promptly deployed in the scene of the attack,” the report said.
