The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has disowned the former Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Mr Uche Onyeagocha, describing as “fictitious and laughable,” the “rumour making the rounds” that he has been announced as the group’s Secretary and Legal Adviser.

Saying that “this shameless lie from the pit of hell is being sponsorsed by Gov. Hope Uzodinma and his foot soldiers to implicate Barrister Onyeagocha who they consider a strong critic of his anti-people administration,” IPOB SPokesperson, Emma Powerful said the body “doesn’t operate in secret. We have our legal team and Uche Onyeagocha is not one of them. IPOB has also not appointed him as our Secretary as we do not have any such position in our leadership Structure.

“Besides, appointing a non-member of IPOB into its leadership smacks of stupidity. Biafrans and the world at large must come to terms with the fact the the impostor in IKONSO HOUSE masquerading as governor is nothing but a well known fraudster. This fraudster forged a purported cancellation of the Sit-At-Home called by IPOB against the visit of the arch genocidist Muhamadu Buhari to Imo State. So we know his antecedents.

“Hon. Uche Onyeaguocha is never a member of IPOB and we have no business with him. Hope Uzodinma and his co-travellers who think they can use the hallowed name of IPOB as a platform to destroy their perceived political opponents should understand that IPOB is not a name to toy with.

“Again, we are warming all media outfits and platforms using press statements and releases purportedly issued by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful without verification to desist from such action immediately. We have our channels of information dissemination, and any statement purportedly coming from us which did not pass through the channels should be ignored. Anybody we catch publishing any information purportedly coming from IPOB without verification will be severely dealt with.

“Any media house that publishes fake news about IPOB or allows itself to be used by our enemies to publish junks and unverified statements purportedly coming from IPOB shall live in regrets. We don’t want any confrontations with the media because the media are our friends but they should be careful not to be used against us. A word is enough for the wise.”
