Osun couple dies of suspected food poisoning on Independence Day

There was pandemonium at Ireti Ayo community along Ijebu-Jesa road in Osun State when the corpse of a couple was found in their apartment.

It was gathered that the incident happened on October 1, when one of the residents of the area discovered that the couple was laying on the floor.

The neighbours forced their way into the apartment and discovered that the couple is dead.

A resident said: “We suspected that they die of poison because their corpses were found around their dining table.”

The Police through its spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.

She said: “55-year-old Mr Olasunkanmi Eso and 50-year-old Mrs. Fisayo Eso were found dead on the floor of their dining room. We are waiting for the autopsy report from the hospital to ascertain the actual cause of their death.”
