Manchester City beat Chelsea 3–0 in a strong performance, putting further pressure on league leaders Arsenal and moving closer to winning the title.
City took control from the start with their usual technique of keeping the ball, allowing Chelsea to chase shadows for most of the game. After a lot of pressure in the first half, City took the lead by taking advantage of mistakes by the defense.
Chelsea had a hard time responding because their midfield wasn’t working together and they weren’t being creative in the final third. In the second half, their defense was once again shown to be weak when City scored again with a well-planned attack.
The third goal pretty well ended the game and showed how much better one team was than the other that day. Chelsea couldn’t come back because City’s attacking fluidity and defensive structure made sure there was no way back for them.
Manchester City’s triumph brings them closer to Arsenal at the top of the league, making the title fight even more exciting. With consistency on their side, Pep Guardiola’s club is once again showing why they are still one of the best teams in English football.
The loss has Chelsea even more worried about their form and direction, as their campaign has been plagued by inconsistency.
