Burna Boy has finally spoken out about the ongoing controversy about the reported fight between him, DJ Tunez, and people connected to his camp.
Burna Boy and Shalipopi sat together in an Instagram live video and talked about what happened. The artist said he was the only one participating in the fight and adamantly denied that his crew was involved in any physical attack. He remarked that the matter has been incorrectly presented as a group activity.
Burna Boy also swore on his mother’s life that none of his friends touched DJ Tunez at the event.
He said:
“Don’t let my crew touch it.” It’s just me. If I lie, I swear on my mother that Ogun would take my mother to where Wizkid’s mother is. It’s just me. Na only me give him two slaps. I tell everyone not to touch him.
He added that he directly addressed DJ Tunez and even stopped other people from becoming involved in the fight. He said that the meeting was only between the two of them.
He also said that DJ Tunez came with a group of people, but things didn’t go as planned. Burna Boy said he remained around the site for three to four hours, hoping things would become worse, but nothing happened.
He also said that DJ Tunez’s group fled away when they noticed him.
Burna Boy said that the event revealed a difference between the two groups. He said that Wizkid and his crew only have power on social media, while he and his team have “real-life power.”
He also said again that he slapped DJ Tunez twice during the fight.
This comes after days of online arguments that started when allegations of DJ Tunez getting into a fight went viral. DJ Tunez had already gone on X (previously Twitter) to say that he was attacked from behind during the event, and his story got a lot of attention on social media.
A little while later, Wizkid posted something on his X (previously Twitter) account that people thought was a barb at Burna Boy. The message talked about the event and a viral video of Burna Boy dancing with a towel, which made things even worse between the two groups.
