As the world celebrates Easter, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has asked corps members and staff across the country to embrace the values of sacrifice, renewal, and hope.
Caroline Embu, the Director of Information and Public Relations, said in a press release that the Director-General stressed that the underlying principles of Easter are very similar to the main goal of the NYSC.“Easter is a powerful reminder of sacrifice, renewal, hope, and love—virtues that are at the heart of the National Youth Service Corps,” the statement said.
The DG advised everyone in the NYSC family to live by these values in their daily lives and relationships. The Director-General told corps members to stay committed to selfless service and mutual respect, stressing the importance of national unity.
The message made it clear that Nigeria’s variety should be seen as a source of strength, not a reason to fight. The statement went on to say, “We can make Nigeria a more peaceful, united, and prosperous place by working together and having a common goal.
The DG ended the message with the scheme’s hallmark patriotic phrase, “Nigeria is ours; Nigeria we serve.” He hoped that the season would bring a fresh sense of fulfillment and a deeper commitment to serving the fatherland.
