Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor of Delta State, has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) for becoming stronger. He said that the party’s most recent national convention was a clear indicator of its growing power and popularity across the country.
Oborevwori spoke at the convention in Abuja and said that the enormous number of party members and officials that showed up showed that people were becoming more confident in the APC, especially because a lot of people were leaving rival parties.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu had already told party officials to get more opposition personalities to join, which observers say has made the ruling party stronger before the next elections.
The governor, who left the APC in 2025, said that his choice to align Delta State with the federal government was already showing results. He says that the shift has made it easier to get resources and made the state’s governance better.
Oborevwori also supported Tinubu’s economic and governance ideas, saying that even if Nigerians are having trouble with money, the reforms are starting to work.
He noted that states have been getting more money from the federal government, which has helped them meet their duties, like paying salaries and building infrastructure.
“The policies and programs of Mr. President are working… it’s a gradual process,” the governor stated, stressing that more governors would not be joining the APC if the administration was not doing well.
He also pointed out that the APC currently controls more states than ever before, which he said showed the party’s political momentum and public support. According to experts, the convention, which brought together important people from all around the country, is part of the ruling party’s larger plans to strengthen its control and be ready for the 2027 general elections.
The governor said again that he is committed to bringing development to Delta State. He also asked Nigerians to be patient with the reforms that are already in place and to keep supporting both the state and federal administrations.
