Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi State, has expressed dismay over the deaths of a few troops in the state.
Idris told reporters that the terrible event happened early today at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Birnin Kebbi.
According to Daily Trust, he promised that the state government would pay the injured people’s medical expenses and support the families of the security personnel who had died.
“This is a tragic event. Despite being the soldiers who defend the lives of Kebbi inhabitants, they ended up in this predicament. He was cited as saying, “The Kebbi State Government will not give up in its efforts to protect the lives of its citizens.”
Afterwards, he went to the accident and emergency room and mortuary at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Birnin Kebbi, where the attack victims were brought.
After that, the governor left to assess the situation on the spot.
How the attack occurred is unknown. Security analyst Bakatsine claimed that suspected Lakurawa fighters attacked troops stationed in the area, despite reports claiming the forces were assaulted while on a peace mission.
Several Nigerian troops were slain by Lakurawa terrorists today in Girinmasa, Yauri LGA, Kebbi State.
Bakatsine added, “May Allah have mercy on the fallen heroes and bring an end to this insecurity ravaging Nigeria.”
Although military members have recently been slain while performing their duties, the military authorities have not released an official statement regarding the attack.
The military has lost numerous soldiers and three senior commanders to terrorists who have been destroying North-East communities in recent weeks.
