On March 17, 2026, Hu Ruirong and Wu Caixing got married at the Silver Jubilee Home For The Aged in Penang, Malaysia. Instagram/@noodoumy photoHu stated, “I wanted to marry him and live with him, so we did.” She said she wasn’t afraid and was thrilled.
Mothership says that Hu had never been married. She put her personal life on hold when she was younger and spent most of her time taking care of her elderly mom. She moved into the nursing home around seven years ago because her health was getting worse.
Wu and the other person met in late 2025 when Wu moved into the same place. At first, they sat close to each other in the dining room, but soon they started conversing and became friends.Hu remarked, “Our sweet moments on dates are when we hold hands and walk outside the nursing home or go shopping.”
The care facility said that managers talked to the couple separately before letting them get married to make sure the decision was theirs. Wu, who can’t move around much, said he wanted Hu to be with him for a long time.
After that, the house planned the wedding with help from businesses, community groups, and volunteers. The best man and bridesmaid, both in their 70s, were also a couple who met at the institution.
After the ceremony, Hu and Wu moved into the same room at the elderly facility.
