Suspected bandits raided the Sabon Gero community in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and took a pregnant woman, a nursing mother with her infant, and five other family members.
According to Daily Trust, the crime happened about midnight on Sunday and scared residents when the attackers broke into a home and took the victims into the woods.
Jamila Alhaji Ado, one of the victims who got away, stated that the attackers broke into their home at night and took all the women and children away.
“They came into the house at night and took us away with our kids and the other women, including a pregnant woman and a mother with a baby,” she added.
She said that the kidnappers made them walk for hours, even though she couldn’t walk.
“I told them I couldn’t walk, but they made me.” “When we started moving, they saw that I was falling and left me in the bush,” she said.
Alhaji Ado Idris, the head of the family that was affected, revealed that the kidnappers had asked him for money weeks before the attack.
“They called me about three weeks ago and asked for money. I told them I didn’t have any,” he stated.
He added that the shooters came back later to carry out the attack.
“When they came in, they started firing, but they didn’t notice me. They took my wives, including the one who was pregnant and the one who was breastfeeding her infant, as well as my other kids. Seven members of my family are in the jungle with them right now. “I am asking for help to save them,” he stated.
During the operation, the attackers also killed Abdulrahman Lawal, a member of the vigilante group.
Aliyu Muktar, a leader of a neighborhood vigilante group, said that the dead man was attacked in his store.
“The attackers were shooting after they had surrounded the area.” “He fought with one of them before they shot him,” he stated.
Muhammadu Lawal, the father of the dead man, alleged that his son died on the route to the hospital after being shot.
We couldn’t get in touch with the State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, by phone. But a police source said that it happened.
