Abubakar Malami, his wife Asabe Bashir, and their son Abdulaziz Malami have all been released on bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
According to Channels TV, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik gave each of the accused bail of ₦200 million with two sureties in the same amount.
The court said that one of the sureties had to put up title deeds for houses in either Maitama or Asokoro, two upscale neighborhoods in Abuja, as part of the bail requirements.
The judge also directed the defendants to provide the court their international passports.
The defendants will stay in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service till the bail terms are met.
Justice Abdulmalik then put the case on hold until March 16, when the trial will start.
