A moving Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus caught fire on the Mile-12 Bridge along Ikorodu Road, Lagos, on Tuesday, and passengers narrowly escaped death.
According to reports from Vanguard, eyewitnesses said that the high-capacity bus caught fire while it was on the road today.
After the fire broke out, the passengers promptly got out of the car and moved to a safe place.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service put out the fire quickly, collaborating with other emergency responders.
To keep traffic moving, the burned bus was taken off the bridge later.
At the time of the press release, the immediate and deeper causes of the fire were not identified. There were no deaths recorded as a result of the event, which is good news.
The Frontier says that another large commercial bus caught fire on the Third Mainland Bridge in January, which caused a lot of problems for people who were driving into the Iyana Oworo area of Lagos State.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority says the event happened about 1:00 p.m. near the Adekunle sector of the bridge.
