Tunji Disu, the Acting Inspector-General of Police, has officially taken over the command structure of the Nigeria Police Force at Force Headquarters. This happened less than an hour after he was honored at the Presidential Villa.
Disu, who was named by President Bola Tinubu yesterday after Kayode Egbetokun, the former police chief, stepped down, got to the well-known Louis Edet House at about 4:37 p.m. yesterday.
Disu was welcomed with a ceremonial salute from the quarter guards and senior officers from the Federal Capital Territory command, the Intelligence Response unit, and the Force Headquarters.
As of the time this article was filed, the handing over ceremony was still going on.
