Evangelist Sir Innocent Chinedu Onuoha, Executive Chairman of InnoChris Group, has died at the age of 71. He was a successful businessman and a fervent Christian.
The family said in a statement that the well-respected businessman “died peacefully in his sleep on December 11, 2025, at his home in Lagos.”
Onuoha, who was born in 1954 and went on to get a higher education that helped him build a successful career in business and service, is fondly known as Ogbuefi, a traditional title.
Onuoha was an Evangelist in the Anglican Church and came from the Umuoma Umuaro II Autonomous Community in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
He started his career as the Chief Engineer’s Secretary at Flour Mills Nigeria Ltd. He then worked his way up to become the Executive Chairman of InnoChris Group, which includes InnoChris Transport, InnoChris Computers, and InnoChris Spare Parts (Wholesale and Retail).
Onuoha was known by his friends as a bridge builder and philanthropist. He was involved in several important development and infrastructure initiatives in his neighborhood. His scholarship program made it possible for many poor kids to get a good education.
The family said, “He strongly believed in giving others power.” They went on to say that he taught many young entrepreneurs through apprenticeship programs, helping them start their own enterprises.
Onuoha was well-known for his humanitarian work as well as his business and mentoring work. The statement says that he “made a difference in the lives of widows and the less fortunate, giving lifelines and restoring hope to dozens of people across the country without discrimination.”
He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
The family claimed that plans for the burial are still being made and that the date of the funeral will be revealed soon.
