In Ilu-Abo, a hamlet in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, kidnappers have taken a couple.
According to Channels TV, the attack happened yesterday when Jamiu Olawale and his wife were ambushed in front of their home by gunmen who came out of the adjacent jungle. They had just come back from their shop.
It was alleged that the shooters also shot at one of the couple’s neighbors, Patrick Ilumaro, who was seated in front of his house throughout the attack. The sufferer was quickly taken to the hospital, where he is now getting care.
Abayomi Jimoh, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, verified the event.
The spokesperson said that everyone are working together to make sure that the kidnapped people come back safely and that the people who did it are brought to justice.
He stated that Adebowale Lawal, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, had quickly sent tactical squads and regular officers to search the bushes and nearby areas for the victims and the people who did it.
Jimoh asks people to stay calm and give the police station near them accurate, useful information that could help with the investigation.
