On Tuesday, more than 170 people died in the Woro and Nuku communities in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
TNT news reported on Wednesday that international news outlets said the terrorists who invaded the two villages killed the inhabitants while they slept.
The first report indicated that 40 people had died, but the station said that 172 people had now been verified deceased. TNTnews has not yet been able to establish how many individuals were kidnapped at the time of going to press.
Security agents and the Kwara State administration have not yet made a formal comment about the most recent event.
