The governing body of world football reported today that international transfer fees for men’s football reached a record $13.08 billion (10.9 billion euros) in 2025.
According to FIFA’s annual Global Transfer Market report, there were 86,158 international transfers in 2025, which is the most ever.
There were 2,440 transactions in women’s football, which was a 6.3% rise from the previous year. The total amount spent was $28.6 million, which was more than 80% more than the previous year.
The total amount spent on transfers in men’s and women’s professional and amateur football was $13.11 billion. This is more than 50% more than what was spent in 2024 and 35.6% more than the previous record established in 2023.
In 2025, English teams paid the most money on incoming transfers ($3.82 billion) and got the most money for departing moves ($1.77 billion).
Brazilian clubs had the most transactions overall, with 1,190 players coming in and 1,005 players moving out.
Clubs spent the highest on French players ($1.67 billion), followed by Brazilian players ($1.21 billion).
Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea from the Premier League were the three clubs that spent the most.
City takes the top spot from Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Champions League winners. PSG is no longer in the top 20, which is now made up of 11 English clubs.
