Eight persons have been slain by suspected Boko Haram extremists in three villages in Adamawa State’s Hong Local Government Area (LGA).
Eight citizens’ remains have been retrieved from the attack, which happened last night, according to local sources. Four more people are still unaccounted for, according to Daily Trust.
The attackers targeted the villages of Zah, Kijing, and Mubang, according to one of the individuals, who spoke on condition of anonymity. The event has increased insecurity in the area over the Christmas season.
“A number of houses were destroyed during the Monday night assault, but many people think the number of people killed may be higher than eight,” the insider stated.
“Many locals were also compelled to leave their houses in search of safety.”
Hon. Inuwa Usman Wa’aganda, the Chairman of the Hong Local Government Area, stated that he was only able to verify that eight dead had been recovered from the impacted areas.
“It is accurate. The villages of Mubang, Zah, and Kijing in Hong were invaded by Boko Haram. As of right moment, eight bodies have been found in the three communities, and four people are still unaccounted for,” he stated.
Remember that the neighboring districts of Mayo Ladde and Garaha have also reported prior attacks.
