Following an unidentified object that dropped and partially demolished three buildings in the town, Oba Muftahu Gbadamosi, the Olofa of Offa, has urged the locals to maintain composure and carry on with their end-of-year celebrations.
About five people, including a couple and their young daughter, were hurt when an explosion damaged portions of the buildings on Thursday night.
According to Channels TV, the tragic event happened along the Offa-Ijagbo road.
A landlady whose home was damaged claims that the incident happened at around 10 p.m. when she began to hear an odd humming sound, which eventually caused the object to fall on her building.
“I’m not really sure what took place. Something fell on the floor. The woman, identified as Victoria Macharty, remarked, “I really can’t describe it.”
They came this morning to retrieve the item. There were bits of iron, another object that appeared to be rims, and a little box.
“No one would select anything because we stayed here and forbade entry. Our local government chairman arrived this morning with what he claimed to be an anti-bomb unit, and they packed the stuff.
“The fence, the house, and two windows” were among the items she mentioned as being damaged.

“About three houses were destroyed by an explosion yesterday, but no one was hurt. Around midnight, it took place.
“That stuff wasn’t directed at Offa, so I’m just using this chance to appeal to the Offa community. It resembled a stray bullet.
“In order for them to avoid panicking, I want them to relax. They ought to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s peacefully. No one is a target.
He declared, “They are not attacking you, and we are not attacking anyone.”

The joint Nigeria-US operation used MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aircraft vehicles to deploy 16 GPS-guided precision missiles, according to a statement released yesterday by Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation.
He reported that during the operation, debris from spent ammunition fell at Offa, Kwara State, close to a hotel, and in Jabo, Tambuwal Local Government Area, Sokoto State.
