Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) were given to the state’s twenty local government chairmen by Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun.
According to Channels TV, Governor Abiodun stated that the action is a fulfillment of his promise and is intended to promote efficient government at the local level of development.
During the distribution in Abeokuta, the governor praised the local government chairmen for their efforts to bring democracy’s benefits to the people at large through Ganiyu Hamzat, the Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
In order to enhance the welfare and standard of living of Ogun State residents, Governor Abiodun reiterated his administration’s dedication to collaborating closely with them.
Afolasade Adeyemo, the chairman of the Ogun State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), responded on behalf of the 20 LGA chairmen, calling the gesture a positive move.
Adeyemo thanked the governor from the bottom of his heart for keeping his promise.
The head of Ogun ALGON, who also serves as the chairman of the Odeda Local Government Area, praised Governor Abiodun’s accomplishments in a number of important areas, such as housing, healthcare, education, and road infrastructure.
She stated that Ogun State has been lifted to an enviable position by the governor’s ISEYA slogan and promised that the chairmen of local governments would continue to collaborate with the state government to make Ogun State the pride of its indigenous people, residents, and Nigerians in general.
During the event, the ALGCON CEO stated, “The vehicles would enhance our capacity to reach rural communities and effectively address the aspirations and needs of the people at the grassroots.”
