The SGF stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing commitment to enhancing road safety management and national security operations is reflected in the Electric Motor Bikes, which were commissioned at the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Headquarters.
Shehu Mohammed, mni, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, spoke at the ceremony and characterized the intervention as strategic and opportune, highlighting the exceptional support that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has shown for the Corps.
According to him, the availability of electric motor bikes enhances the FRSC’s developing function inside Nigeria’s national security framework, which now includes intelligence support, emergency response, and traffic management.
In order to improve traffic control, enforcement, strategic intervention patrols, escort duties, and special assignments—particularly in regions where traditional patrol vehicles encounter operational difficulties—the Corps Marshal clarified that the bikes will be promptly placed along vital corridors across the country.
He claims that the motorcycles’ enhanced mobility, speed, and visibility will greatly enhance traffic flow, enable quick responses to collisions, decongest highways, and maintain order, particularly during holidays and seasons of high travel demand.
He added that FRSC officers have persisted in providing early warning information, emergency support, crime detection, and prompt communication to sister security services, given the rise in criminal activity along road corridors.
According to him, the Electric Motor Bikes will improve the Corps’ ability to support ongoing security operations and promote interagency cooperation in order to protect people and property.
As the Corps continues to embrace cutting-edge solutions that boost operational effectiveness while promoting environmental sustainability, the Corps Marshal said that the deployment of the electric motor bikes also complies with international best practices in sustainable and technologically advanced mobility.
He emphasized that in a fast changing operational environment, the effort provides a forward-thinking solution to contemporary law enforcement and traffic management.
