President Bola Tinubu is had a private meeting with the service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja yesterday.
The discussion began about 6:01 PM, when the President left the State House Conference Hall to go to the launch of the book “From Soldier to Statesman: The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari.”
Vanguard says that this is Tinubu’s first meeting with the military high command since he swore in General Christopher Musa (retd.) as the new Minister of Defense on December 4.
The agenda for today’s meeting isn’t public yet, but it comes as 115 kids who were kidnapped from a Catholic boarding school in November are still being held.
Tinubu called a national security emergency on November 26 and told security agencies to hire more people.
He also told all police officers to stop protecting VIPs.
The meeting also comes just a few days after Nigeria’s Senate accepted Tinubu’s proposal to send troops to the Republic of Benin after an attempted coup in the country next door.
There was also a lot of pressure on the President to fire his Minister of State for Defense because of the lack of security.
