Local officials stated that a Ukrainian drone attack on the central Russian city of Saratov killed two persons on Saturday.
Kyiv has used drones to attack Russia during Moscow’s nearly four-year war on Ukraine, which has seen Russia take over large parts of the nation and rain down drones and missiles on it.
Roman Busargin, the governor of the Saratov area, told AFP that the drones damaged a home in Saratov.
Busargin remarked on Telegram, “Two people died.”
He went on to say, “Several apartments in a residential building were damaged as a result of a drone attack.”
He indicated that the government would help persons who suffer damage to their flats with money.
Saratov is on the Volga River, across from Engels, which is home to a major Russian army post.
Kyiv has sent drones to attack it before, but Russia takes down a lot of them and there are few losses.
Russia has been hitting Ukrainian cities with drones and missiles every day since the war started.
The US is talking to both Moscow and Kyiv about ending the long-running war.
