President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with the governors of Kaduna, Benue, and Cross River states in private at the State House in Abuja yesterday. This was in response to ongoing problems with security and governance in several regions of the country.
According to The Nation, the governors of Kaduna, Hyacinth Alia of Benue, and Bassey Otu of Cross River all came to the State House at separate times before meeting with the President.
The presidency did not formally share any information on the meetings.
But people who know about the conversations claimed they were mostly about security challenges and other important government issues that the three states are facing, such as communal conflicts, banditry, and rising economic constraints.
After the meetings, the governors refused to talk to reporters.
They said hello to reporters quickly, but they didn’t say anything as they left the State House to get into their cars.
At the time of writing, there was no official word on the results of the talks.
