Democratic senators in the US have published two new groups of images from Jeffrey Epstein’s house. These photos show more about the convicted pedophile’s residence and connections to the rich and powerful.
The pictures show a lot of famous people, like US President Donald Trump, former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon.
The BBC says that the pictures, many of which have been seen before, do not show any wrongdoing.
The Democrats announced that the House Oversight Committee members disclosed almost 100 photos yesterday. These are some of the more than 95,000 images that were obtained through a subpoena.
The Department of Justice also has a deadline next week to make public all records pertaining to Epstein.
In the initial set of images that lawmakers released yesterday, Epstein is pictured with a number of well-known people, but none of them have said anything yet.
A lot of them have said in the past that they didn’t do anything illegal with Epstein.
Three of the pictures that came out yesterday showed Trump. In one picture, he was standing next to a woman whose face had been blurred out.
Another picture showed Trump talking to model Ingrid Seynhaeve at a Victoria’s Secret party in New York in 1997, with Epstein next to him. This picture was already public.
In the third picture, Trump is smiling with a few women on either side of him, but their faces have also been blurred.
There was also a picture of red packets with a drawing of the president on them next to a sign that said “Trump Condom.”
The White House said that the release was a “Democrat hoax” against Trump that has been “repeatedly debunked.”
For months, Trump has said that the Epstein story was a distraction that his opponents made up to keep people from seeing how well his administration was doing.
There are other intimate pictures of Epstein in yesterday’s files, such one of him in a bathtub and another that seems like it has sexual devices in it. They also show him alongside a number of well-known figures, such as Bill Gates, a tech magnate, and Bill Clinton, a former president.
In one picture, Clinton is posing next to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who was found guilty in 2021 of helping the disgraced financier abuse women.
There are two more people in the picture who our correspondent hasn’t been able to name yet. It looks like Clinton signed it.
Clinton has said that he did nothing illegal with Epstein. A representative asserted in 2019 that he “knows nothing about the terrible crimes” Epstein admitted to.
One of the pictures in yesterday’s batch was a cropped version of a picture taken by a Getty Images photographer in 2018. It showed King Charles talking to Microsoft founder Gates at a meeting in London.
The picture in Epstein’s collection was cut down to show just Andrew and Gates.
Andrew lost his “Prince” title and departed his Windsor castle, Royal Lodge, earlier this year. He has been under a lot of scrutiny for his former ties with Epstein. He has said that he did nothing wrong.
