Segun Martins, a person believed to be a stowaway, was apprehended at Ilorin’s General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport.
The incident occurred on an Overland aircraft this afternoon at approximately 3:02, according to Daily Trust.
First reports indicate that the guy tried to hide between the tires after gaining unauthorised access to the aircraft’s foot as it was taxiing for takeoff.
The individual who was apprehended by ground security officials allegedly informed authorities that he believed the plane was en route to America.
Michael Achimugu, spokesman for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), authenticated the occurrence in a post on his verified X account.
According to his account, the following occurred at around 1502 hours: “A man named Segun Martins got unauthorised access to the undercarriage of an Overland plane that was preparing to taxi for takeoff and tried to hide between the brakes.
The person was taken into custody by ground security. Upon his arrest, the man was promptly turned over to the Airport Police for additional questioning.
It was Mr. Segun Martins’s intention to hide on board the plane and flee to the United States of America, according to his statement.
According to him, the incident is still under investigation.
