The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State has told Senator Dino Melaye to cease acting like he is a member of the party.
The party said that Melaye is not a member because he has been interfering with their work and attacking them over and over again.
Tayo John, the Kogi ADC Public Relations Officer, said this in Lokoja today.
He said that the party’s state leaders made it plain that they are still their own group and that they are not joining forces with people like Melaye who say they are members of ADC.
The ADC state spokesman added, “I want to make it very clear that Dino Melaye is not a member of ADC in Kogi State. He is not known in his ward as a member of our party.” So, he doesn’t belong to our party and can’t speak for ADC in Kogi State.
John said that Melaye is acting like he always does as a social media content provider, just making noise for the sake of making noise and acting for the sake of acting.
“Dino is not a known member of ADC.” He is a fake; his actions don’t match those of the African Democratic Congress, and he has no control in who leads the party.
We think he is pretending to be a member of our party ADC since he hasn’t paid any dues or taken part in any party activities in the state, local government, or even his ward, which are all things you need to do to join the party. He is neither qualified or allowed to represent our party at any level with this.
Hon. Leke Abejide is the ADC’s national head. He has been a financial member of the party since 2018 and has won elections to the House of Representatives under the ADC. He is a member of ADC who is still there.
“Please don’t take Melaye seriously in his display,” we beg the INEC, the Inspector General of Police, and the public. He wants to demolish ADC in the same way that he has destroyed his other well-known political parties for his own gain. It won’t be allowed.
“He should stop pretending to be ADC and stop speaking for our party.”
“After the two big court cases that Rt Hon Leke Abejide and the Benue State Chairman of ADC started, we will know who owns the ADC.”
He said that Melaye and other members of the ADC coalition in Kogi State met Abejide in the party, where he was not just a regular member but also an elected member of the ADC. This means that Leke Abejide is not just a stakeholder in the state, but also in the country.
“They met Leke Abejide in the ADC, and according to the party’s rules, his purported suspension or expulsion is not valid. Leke Abejide is also in court against them, and they don’t have the authority to ask for his seat to be declared empty and all that, he said.
