Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, said today that terrorists and robbers in the South West’s forests are planning to assault the region if quick action isn’t taken to stop them.
Speaking to reporters in Lagos, Iba Adams said that some terrorists and bandits had taken over forests in Kogi, Kwara, Ekiti, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, sections of Edo, and Delta states.
Vanguard reported that he told the Yoruba people to be on the lookout and use indigenous intelligence-gathering tools to deal with the security danger.
He also yelled at the governors of the South West for not working on his ideas for a Southwest Security Summit.
He said that something needed to be done right away before things became worse.
He said, “These are dangerous times in Yorubaland.” There are bad signs all over Kogi, Kwara, Ekiti, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, and parts of Edo and Delta states.
“Death merchants” have surrounded the more than 60 million people who live in this area. The crazy people who want to kill don’t want to help the peaceful people in our region.
“Instead, they are waiting for their foreign sponsors to tell them to invade this land, kill without mercy, and take over people’s ancestral land.”
“Over a year ago, I prepared a letter to our governors and mailed it to them to warn them that they needed to work with us right now to get rid of all these bad people from our forests. Sadly, they didn’t answer.
“Now, everyone can see the threat.
“If action isn’t taken right now, this clear, present, serious, and imminent risk might change the geography, landscape, and history of the peaceful Yoruba people.
“This insecurity is slowly creeping into Yorubaland, which is a monster that we must fight with all our strength.
“Women have been raped.” Farmers have lost their things. People who travel don’t feel safe on highways anymore.
“This evil is slowly making its way into Yorubaland, and the hydra-headed beast is already a big security risk.
“Because this ‘cancer’ didn’t get an urgent and clear operation when I raised the alarm,
“It is now spreading like wildfire because kidnappers and abductors make a lot of money with less danger.
“We now have a situation where, according to our intelligence gathering, these terrorists are already getting ready to escape the forests and attack our towns and cities.
“It’s time to end this cancer that is spreading its virus all over Yorubaland.
“These enemies of progress aim to damage the economy of Yorubaland, and they are doing this nasty business to make money. That is why they need to be stopped right now.
“We need to give this cankerworm the urgent care it needs because evil must not be appeased for any progress to be made in any democracy. It must be dealt with firmly and fought on all fronts, like the monster it is.
“That’s why I suggested that a Southwest Security Summit be convened in one of the state capitals in Yorubaland.
“Among other things, traditional authorities, religious leaders, farmers, businesspeople, herders, and security agents in the area will be at the gathering. Sadly, some in government haven’t taken this concept seriously.
“Protecting lives and property is the most important job of any government in the world.” Based on the information we have, these people, most of whom are from nearby nations, have gotten into our forests. What could be more embarrassing than that?
The Yoruba leader told the Yoruba people to be on the lookout and use local ways to acquire information to deal with the threat to security.
“This is the time for all Yoruba to be careful and watchful,” he stated. We need to do this well through our local intelligence-gathering system because everyone needs to fight this monster.
That’s why we like Donald Trump’s idea to get rid of the terrorists who are killing Christians and Muslims in Nigeria.
“I still don’t get why some folks don’t want the military to step in and deal with these outlaws.
“If our governors can’t do anything about the problem or won’t for political reasons, it’s better for American soldiers to help this land.”
“Donald Trump has never told anyone that he wants to build a military base in Nigeria.” He just mentioned that there have been too many killings in Nigeria. So, what’s wrong with that?
“You will recall an event from 2020 when an American was kidnapped and taken to a place in the North.
The United States Marines attacked the premises, killed six of the kidnappers, and saved the American. This is exactly what we mean. If the Nigerian security system has been broken, Western powers should step in to bring peace and order back to the country. Stop the murdering in this country.
“The British Government told its people a few days ago not to go to roughly 20 states in Nigeria because it wasn’t safe.
“What could be more embarrassing than that?” Now is the moment for all Yoruba people to be careful and watchful. We need to do this well through our local intelligence-gathering system because everyone needs to fight this monster.
“It’s a no-brainer that these terrorists will go on the rampage soon if they are treated with kid gloves.” This needs to be stopped right away.
“Because of this, we must make it our top priority to deal with this insecurity as soon as possible.
“This menace to our existence must be dealt with right away. We need to fight kidnapping intelligently, and now is the moment to do so.
“The main job of security agencies is to protect the country against threats to its national security. Any threat to a country’s economic progress is likewise a threat to its security.
“Because those threats could be secretly planned, Yoruba people and other Nigerians require intelligence to fight against these agents of darkness.
“This is the time for us to do something before things get too bad.”
