The Alliance for Yoruba Democratic Movements (AYDM), a socio-cultural group, has said that there is a plan to make Nigeria an Islamic state. They believe that while Christians are being killed in large numbers, Yoruba and Middle Belt Muslims are also being killed.
According to Sunday Vanguard, AYDM told the governors of the South-West states and Kogi and Kwara states to get ready for what would happen if the US strikes terrorist networks in Nigeria.
The group’s General Secretary, Popoola Ajayi, and Publicity Secretary, Suleiman Sanusi, stated in a statement that the US strike could force the terrorists to leave their Northern hideouts and move to the South-West for safety.
The group said that people who were against the proposed US action because of sovereignty had forgotten that the country’s officials had remained quiet about the killings and theft of public resources.
The group said that terrorism was one of Nigeria’s problems and that “it is clear that Nigeria has no power to stop the US proposed strike.” Sadly, the practice of paying for fake protests and propaganda doesn’t work in this situation. It is prudent for both state and national governments to anticipate the repercussions and handle the matter in a manner that upholds the dignity of the Yoruba nation.
AYDM remarked, “You can’t heal a country without telling the truth.” There is an open plan to make Nigeria more Islamic.
A lot of people have died. The Yoruba are the ones that are directly affected. The plan is to make Nigeria Muslim. That’s the truth. Those who want Sharia law in Yorubaland are their agents there.
They didn’t listen to argument until the Trump tweet. The Yoruba people have no choice but to come up with their own plan on how to deal with the fallout from the almost certain strike.
They told the governors of the South-West to engage with Yoruba self-determination groups to gather information, organize data, and safeguard Yoruba land from more terrorist attacks.
AYDM added, “The planned US attack won’t stop the people who want Jihad in Nigeria from doing what they want.” The only way is for Yoruba people to get together and stop the extremists from coming in. “Nigeria is in the same place as the Soviet Union was in 1991.”
The country could go to war or peacefully break up.
Some Nigerian politicians are criticizing Mr. Trump, but they don’t recognize that his attention was drawn to the country’s reckless, corrupt leadership and the failure to stop the bloodshed. While the political elite see elections as the most essential thing to do, innocent blood is streaming on the streets of Nigeria.
