The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has warned people to be on the lookout for changing weather conditions, such as dust haze and rain, in different parts of the country from today till Wednesday.

The service also said that sections of Taraba and Adamawa states might get isolated thunderstorms with light rain in the afternoon or evening today.
NiMet said that the central region will have clear sky with some clouds. Later in the day, there might be some thunderstorms and light rain in the FCT, Nasarawa, and Kogi states.
The statement said, “There will be cloudy weather in the southern region on Monday morning, with scattered thunderstorms and light rain in parts of Cross River, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom states.”
In the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms with moderate rain are expected in the states of Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Ondo, Osun, Lagos, Ekiti, Ogun, Edo, Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom.
“On Tuesday, NiMet predicted that there will be a small dust haze in northern states with good visibility. Taraba and Adamawa may get isolated thunderstorms and light rain all day.
In the central area, there will be sunny skies with some clouds. There is also a chance of thunderstorms in the early morning in Benue and moderate rain later in the day in FCT, Nasarawa, and Kogi states.
NiMet also said that the southern states will have cloudy sky and that Rivers, Cross River, Ebonyi, and Akwa Ibom would get moderate rain in the morning that would get worse later in the day.
The agency warned that some areas of Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Cross River states could flood and told local governments to get ready to respond to emergencies if they need to.
NiMet said that on Wednesday, the northern region will have clear sky, but there would be some thunderstorms and light showers later in the day, especially in sections of Taraba State.
The central area will have clear sky with some clouds, whereas Kogi and the Federal Capital Territory may see thunderstorms with light rain.
It said, “In the south, there will be cloudy weather in the morning, followed by thunderstorms with moderate rains later in the afternoon and evening across Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Delta, and Akwa Ibom.”
NiMet said again that there is a significant possibility of flash floods and told drivers to be careful when driving in the rain. It also told authorities in areas that are at risk to take action right away to deal with the floods.
The agency also warned people with asthma and other breathing problems to stay inside as much as possible because of the dust particles that are floating around in the air over the northern portions of the country.
NiMet told airline operators to get weather information for each airport to help them schedule flights. The agency also told the public to keep up with news through its website and other communication channels.
