In an interview that was shown yesterday on British television, former US vice president Kamala Harris hinted that she would “possibly” run for president again.
Harris told the BBC that she has not yet determined whether to run for president again. She was the Democratic nominee for president in 2024, succeeding Joe Biden, but she was defeated by Donald Trump.
A female president would occupy the Oval Office “in their lifetime, for sure,” the 61-year-old grandmother vowed, and she maintained that she was “not done” with American politics.
“I have lived my entire career a life of service, and it’s in my bones, and there are many ways to serve,” Harris told the British broadcaster in an interview slated to run in its entirety today.
“Aside from my current endeavors, I have not yet made a decision regarding my future plans.”
Harris may run for the Democratic Party nomination in 2028; their remarks are the greatest indication of that so far.
Her memoir, in which she called the decision to allow Biden to seek reelection as president “reckless,” was released last month, and this interview comes after it.
She went on to say that his White House staff had been unsupportive and even hostile toward her during her time as his deputy.
