Dr. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the governor of Anambra State, argues that girls are treasures, changemakers, and better leaders. She also says that any community that wants to flourish must first recognize the uniqueness of the girl child and do everything it can to safeguard and guard them.
The Anambra First Lady, who started “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo,” asked families, schools, places of worship, and communities to do everything they can to make sure that every girl has the best chance of success.
In a statement released today to honor the International Day of the Girl Child, she said that the state has gone above and beyond to make sure that everyone may live and do well in a healthy society.
She emphasized that the community needs to make an effort to talk about and take real action on challenges that are unique to girls.
The statement said in part, “How much do we really talk about and do something about strange problems that affect the girl child?” That question sums up how hard we are trying to understand the true problems that girls face in our families and communities.
“We may have done well in answering some of the important issues, but we still have data that reflect a lack of something, so we haven’t really done enough.
“Girls are valuable.” Being a girl means being born one-of-a-kind, smart, rare, and gorgeous. Girls are the best leaders, managers, and people who make things happen. For a society to thrive, it must first recognize how special the girl child is and do everything it can to keep her safe.
We also need to do our best to provide the best environment for every girl to achieve in at home, at work, at school, and in our communities.
“As a government that values diversity, we have done amazing things to make sure that everyone can live and do well in a healthy society.
“Our plan starts with free antenatal care and delivery services (including C-Section births) in Anambra State and goes all the way to empowering dreams through our truly free education policy in all public schools in the state.
She said that the Anambra State administration has improved its health care system and made it easier for people to get good health care at a reasonable price.
“We have also made changes to our health care system to make it easier for people to get inexpensive, high-quality care.
“We understand and take care of the dreams of every child in Anambra State.” We do even more for every girl child in our state since being a girl is so precious.
“Happy International Day of the Girl Child to all the amazing girls in Anambra State and around the world.” You make things happen. The sentence ended with, “Always remember that.”
